The world's first oil well was drilled by the British in Masjed Soleyman, a city located in the north of Khuzestan Province, Iran, a city at the beginning of the southern Zagros slopes that has long been the main city of the great Bakhtiari tribe.
The Bakhtiari people are themselves divided into various clans and tribes.
They were the ancient inhabitants of the Zagros Mountains and have always made nomadic animal husbandry the cornerstone of their free-spirited lifestyle.
Although in the current half century, this form has given way to urbanization.
